What Should I Do After I Shoot a TASER Energy Weapon?
Greetings! My name is David Wright and I'm the Chief Instructor of TASER Training. In this series, we're going to assess what to do next in the event that you need to use your TASER device in self-defense.
You've deployed your TASER device. What to do next? First and foremost, we want to assess. Are you out and about or are you on a trail, hiking? Are you alone? Are you with others? Are you in a mall or are you at home? Assess.
Follow Up Techniques
You may need to do follow up techniques. One of the things we want you to do is seek safety as soon as possible. Do you have a viable escape route? If so, take it. We do want you to contact the police as soon as possible.
Always Assess Your Situation
Assess your surroundings. If you're at home, can you escape out the front door? Out the back door? Do you need to barricade yourself and call 911? Assess always. Have a plan in place when you're out and about. Be situationally aware. Assess in the event that you need to use your TASER for self-defense. Do you need to follow up with strikes? Do you find safety? Assess. Constantly assess.
Notify Law Enforcement
And again follow up with 911. Notify law enforcement.
