TASER Law Enforcement Devices vs. TASER Civilian Devices
My name is David Wright, I'm the Chief Instructor for TASER Training. Today we're going to do a comparison between TASER Law Enforcement Devices versus TASER Civilian Devices.
The same technology with different goals in mind.
TASER Law Enforcement Devices
First and foremost, let's take a look at TASER Law Enforcement Devices. They utilize the same technology but with different goals in mind. With TASER Law Enforcement Devices, the goal is to create NMI (Neuromuscular Incapacitation) for five seconds, so the law enforcement officers can come in, control the individual and affect the arrest and save lives.
They have a longer distance. In fact, the TASER X goes out to 45 feet.
TASER Civilian Devices
Conversely, TASER self-defense devices have a duration of 30 seconds in length for NMI (Neuromuscular Incapacitation). The goal is not necessarily to control and affect an arrest, but to give myself time and distance to escape to safety.
The Difference is the Goal
By and large, the difference is going to be and what the goal is. The goal of TASER Law Enforcement Devices is to protect life. The goal of the TASER Civilian Devices is to protect the life that you built.
